Safeguarding

1:1 Online Tuition Safeguarding & Operational Agreement

1. Professional Framework & Compliance
All remote lessons are conducted in strict alignment with the statutory guidance outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2026. I maintain a strict professional mindset regarding child protection.

2. Platform Controls & Session Recording

Session Recording: To protect both the student and the tutor, all Microsoft Teams sessions will be automatically recorded in full and stored securely within a compliant, password-protected cloud environment for a period of 6 months, after which they are permanently deleted. These recordings act as an uneditable audit trail and will never be shared with third parties unless required for official safeguarding reviews.

Access Link: Lessons must only be accessed via the unique, official Microsoft Teams link provided to the parent/guardian's registered email address.

3. Environmental and Behavioural Expectations

Location: Lessons must take place in an appropriate, neutral communal area of the student's home (e.g., a study, dining room, or living room). Lessons must not take place in a student’s bedroom.

Attire: Both the tutor and the student must be fully and appropriately dressed for a professional learning environment.

Parental Presence: While the lesson is 1:1, a parent or designated responsible adult must remain on the premises for the entire duration of the session and be contactable immediately if a technical or safeguarding issue arises.

4. Digital Communications & Boundaries
In accordance with online safety and professional boundary standards:

All communications regarding scheduling, feedback, or homework must go directly through the parent/guardian's contact channels, or if directly with the student the parent/guardian must be copied in to the email.

Direct communication with the student via private social media or messaging apps (e.g., WhatsApp) is strictly prohibited.

The use of unauthorised third-party digital extensions, unapproved Generative AI tools, or unmonitored file-sharing spaces during the session is banned to mitigate digital risk.

5. Reporting and Disclosures
If a student makes a disclosure or if a safeguarding concern is raised during a session, I am legally obligated to document it chronologically and report it directly to the relevant authorities. In line with KCSIE 2026 regulations, I cannot promise confidentiality to a child if their safety or the safety of another child is at risk.

6. Parental Consent & Acknowledgement
By booking a session and allowing your child to log into the Microsoft Teams lesson, you explicitly confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Safeguarding Agreement, including the recording of sessions and environmental requirements.
